Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of financial reporting inputs and general ledger structure.
- Track and analyze financial variances affecting costs and revenues.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings.
- Provide timely reporting and analytical summaries of financial data.
- Manage cash flow and conduct cash forecasting activities.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Proficiency in purchase accounting, leasing, and revenue recognition.
- Analyze cost and revenue inputs (e.g., vendor contracts, client rates, pay, and benefits) to drive forecasting activities.
- Collaborate with the senior finance team to ensure accurate year-end audits and tax return preparations.
- Advise staff on handling non-routine financial transactions.
- Supervise the accounting team to meet all financial reporting deadlines and ensure appropriate internal controls.
- Oversee payroll and benefits functions, ensuring timely and accurate employee support.
- Lead, manage, and develop staff to ensure high performance and continuous improvement.
Education, Experience, and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Experience in the healthcare industry.
- 5 to 7 years of direct and supervisory experience in financial reporting and general ledger management.
- Prior experience as a leader in accounting or in a Controller role.
- Experience tracking and managing cost and revenue inputs in a highly transactional environment.
- Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in General Ledger Reporting and familiarity with Great Plains software is advantageous.
- Extensive experience in accounting, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll.
- Expertise in benefits administration is a significant plus.
- Strong background in analyzing financial results against budgets and prior periods to identify variances and trends.
- Auditing experience, along with costing models and strategies, is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with monthly and year-end financial closings.
- Attention to detail, with a keen ability to identify trends and derive insights.
- Strong research, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- CPA certification is a plus.
