As a Chief of Staff reporting directly to the CEO, you are a high-performance, cross-functional professional charged with managing a wide range of functions. At the core of the role, you will function as the CEO’s right hand and representative across the organization. You may also be charged with leading special projects, partnership, and vendor negotiations, and identifying and executing strategic priorities.
In this role, your responsibilities would include:
• Serving as the right-hand person and ‘extension’ of the CEO, managing internal and external stakeholders, negotiating deals, providing strategic insights, and taking ownership of problems that do not fit anywhere else.
• Leading cross-functional projects from inception to completion, and streamline operational processes to enhance efficiency, productivity, and scalability.
• Getting your hands dirty with administrative or even menial tasks as needed whenever the CEO or other executives need you to.
• Thriving in uncertain conditions and finding your own path. Within the realm of the CEO’s priorities, take on and even create projects that will make an impact on the organization.
• Pitching the CEO with your ideas to improve both his effectiveness as a leader and his reach and impact on the organization.
• Investigating market trends, competitive threats, and emerging opportunities to inform strategic decision-making.
• Fostering a culture of innovation, agility, and continuous improvement across the organization.
• Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including investors, partners, and advisors.
• Being initiative-taking and staying one step ahead of leadership to anticipate the business’ needs.
Ideal Qualities:
• 8+ years of exceptional operational experience in start-ups, tech, venture capital, consulting and/or finance.
• Strong quantitative and written communication skills.
• Experience at a high-growth startup from seed or Series A to Series C or D funding rounds.
• Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion in handling confidential information.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with ambiguity and uncertainty.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and willingness to roll up sleeves to get the job done.
• Atypically versatile. Thinks and acts like a CEO. Able to dive into many roles and do them well.
