This company are looking to bring on a Field Commissioning Engineer to offer comprehensive engineering, commissioning, and start-up support for our distributed generation projects. This will involve overseeing a variety of DER and microgrid assets, including solar power, energy storage systems, control technologies, and reciprocating engines.

Factory Testing:

  • Lead the factory testing of equipment, collaborating with a control engineer from the home office.
  • Set up and download ComAp, PLC, and controls software required for starting up and operating the units.
  • Connect a PC for monitoring and recording test run data.
  • Conduct performance tests at varying loads, comparing results to OEM factory test sheets to verify consistency.
  • Perform sound and emissions tests.

 

Site Testing:

  • Provide instruction to customers and others on the operation and maintenance of equipment as needed.
  • Perform start-up, commissioning, servicing, and repairs on customer equipment.
  • Carry out OEM warranty work and start-up services.
  • Test, calibrate, adjust, correct, and replace components as necessary on customer products.
  • Construct and test circuits and related equipment.
  • Offer technical support for product service, training, and applications.
  • Analyze complex equipment issues, interpret maintenance manuals, and use systems and electronics knowledge to diagnose and fix faults.

Requirements:

  • Experience in microgrid space or similar industry
  • Experience in a Field Commissioning Engineer/ related role
  • Willing to travel 50%+
  • Exhibit knowledge of control circuits and PLCs, gas engine controls, switchgear controls, generator installation, solar inverters, and repair, and a willingness to learn others as needed
