Role Overview:
The Business Development (BD) Director will lead the charge in expanding the customer and partner base across the North American region, with a focus on global money movement. As a key individual contributor, this role requires a highly target-driven professional who is passionate and committed to delivering results. This is a hands-on role that involves active execution and leadership from the front.
How You Will Make an Impact:
Expand Global Reach:
- Identify and launch new countries and send partners within the network in North America.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with strategic partners in key target countries.
- Develop a robust pipeline of outbound opportunities to position North America as a strategic send region.
Drive Product Excellence:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the most competitive products tailored to each market.
- Negotiate favorable terms with partners in North America.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve existing product offerings.
- Stay ahead of market trends and disruptions to spot potential areas for product innovation.
Optimize FX Operations:
- Develop an in-depth understanding of local foreign exchange dynamics.
- Build a network for sourcing efficient FX solutions.
Partner Management and Performance:
- Hold send partners accountable for their performance, ensuring growth and profitability.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with partners.
- Work closely with receive markets to meet and exceed targeted volumes.
Customer-Centric Approach:
- Maintain a thorough understanding of customer needs and preferences.
- Integrate customer feedback into product development and expansion strategies.
Essential Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience in Payments, Fintech, or Financial Services, with direct experience in B2B sales. Experience selling into money remittance, PSPs, or financial services is a plus. Bonus points for experience working with fintech platforms.
- CRM Expertise: Strong knowledge of CRM tools is essential—if it’s not in your toolkit, it should be!
- Self-Motivated & Flexible: Adaptable and highly self-driven, taking full ownership of your tasks and responsibilities.
- Team-Oriented: You thrive in collaborative environments, are open to change, but also work effectively independently.
- Customer & Market Focused: Deep understanding of customer needs, market dynamics, and industry requirements.
- Relationship Builder: Skilled in establishing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, partners, third parties, and internal teams.
- Attention to Detail: Impeccable attention to detail—nothing escapes your notice!
- Language Skills: Fluency in English is a must, as effective communication is key to success.
