Join a leading tech innovator in SMARTGRID solutions, driving grid optimization and renewables integration. This role focuses on selling advanced solutions like Dynamic Line Rating (DLR) and Facility Equipment Rating (FER) to electric utilities.
The Key Account & Business Development Manager is responsible for developing, driving, growing, and closing opportunities for advanced grid optimization solutions, including Dynamic Line Rating (DLR), Ambient Adjusted Rating (AAR), and Facility Equipment Rating (FER), with electric utilities across North America (Western Region).
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and execute a business development plan for advanced grid optimization solutions with key electric transmission and distribution utilities in North America (Western Region).
- Identifying customer needs and pain points, and Maintain client relationships to build references and retain business.
- Engaging prospects through lead generation, sales pitch preparation, and qualification.
- Matching solutions to client needs and proposing tailored offerings.
- Collaborate on marketing activities to generate qualified leads.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5-10 Years experience bringing innovative and complex solutions to Utilities market (software, hardware, or combined solutions).
- Preference for bilingual (English-Spanish) candidates.
- Demonstrated success in building commercial opportunities from scratch and creating market traction (long Sales Cycles).
- Executive communication skills, with the ability to present to C-suite leaders, engage senior business leaders and penetrate organizations effectively.
- Strategic problem-solving skills to understand utility challenges and present solutions.
- Experience with travel and utility sales in North America (West Region).
- Willingness to travel up to 60%.
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent successful experience in a similar role (possessing the appropriate skill set, to develop business in complex industries/ technical products).
