⚡ Position Summary:
The Hardware Engineering Director will lead the design, prototyping, testing, and deployment of the company’s Adaptive BMS hardware platform. This role includes driving product development from concept through launch, ensuring product certification and qualification. The Director will collaborate closely with Firmware, Software, and Mechanical teams to define system requirements, optimize integration, and validate performance. This hands-on leadership role will evolve with the team, requiring both individual contributions and team-building expertise.
⚡ Key Responsibilities:
- Define the Battery Management System (BMS) roadmap for grid storage and electric vehicles.
- Lead the design of highly efficient power conversion solutions (DC-DC converters), exploring new architectures and control techniques for performance improvement.
- Oversee system prototyping, including component selection, schematic design, and supervision of PCB layout.
- Develop and execute test plans to debug and validate designs, ensuring functionality, safety, reliability, and risk mitigation (e.g., FMEA).
- Collaborate with Firmware, Software, and Mechanical teams to ensure seamless integration and support mass production.
- Author requirement documents, application notes, user guides, and datasheets for internal and external use.
- Support the field deployment of products and provide technical assistance to key customers.
⚡ Required Qualifications:
- BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
- 10+ years of experience in relevant roles.
- Demonstrated technical excellence, leadership, and team-building abilities.
- Strong expertise in DC-DC converter design, analog/digital circuit design, and microprocessors.
- Hands-on experience with firmware/software-controlled product design, integration, and testing.
- Familiarity with functional safety development processes and battery management system design.
⚡ Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of battery chemistry, grid-tied storage systems, and renewable energy products.
- Experience with high-power or high-voltage product development.
- Understanding of electricity distribution systems and grid-scale energy storage solutions.
